Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2, 2026

PlayTuck is a social game app for people age 13 and older, operated by Squawk, a Florida-based sole proprietorship. Friends, families, and groups can create a private room, share a room code or QR code, and play quick phone-based games together.

This Privacy Policy explains what PlayTuck collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. It is written for the current public-preview version of PlayTuck.

Age Requirement

PlayTuck is not for children under 13. Do not use PlayTuck if you are under 13.

If you are 13 or older but not yet an adult where you live, use PlayTuck only with permission from a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used PlayTuck or provided personal information, contact us at support@playtuck.com and we will review and delete the information where required.

Information We Collect

Account and sign-in data

PlayTuck uses Firebase Authentication. You can use a guest account through anonymous sign-in. You may also save a guest account with an email address and password.

Depending on how you use the app, we may store:

  • Firebase user ID
  • guest or registered account status
  • email address, if you save or log into an email account
  • email verification status
  • sign-in provider information
  • display name or nickname
  • account creation and login timestamps

We do not store your password. Password handling is provided by Firebase Authentication.

Profile and progression data

To run the game and keep your profile consistent, PlayTuck may store:

  • nickname
  • player visual choices, such as avatar, color, frame, hat, eyewear, facial hair, and shirt
  • theme preference
  • level, XP, coins, and total XP
  • rounds completed, games played, and game stats
  • recent games and last-played information
  • friend code and related profile details

Coins, XP, levels, stats, and cosmetic items are in-app progression features only. They do not have cash value.

Room, lobby, friend, and invite data

When you create, join, or interact with rooms and friends, PlayTuck may store:

  • room code
  • player list and nicknames
  • host ID
  • selected game
  • room status, readiness, join requests, and player connection status
  • room settings, such as locked rooms or join approval
  • invite links, friend requests, friend lists, friend presence, and lobby invites
  • room timestamps, expiration status, and limited room archive summaries

Private rooms are code-based. Only people with the room code, QR code, invite, or approved access should be able to join. Do not share a room code with people you do not want in the room.

Game data

PlayTuck stores temporary game data needed to run each round. Depending on the game, this may include:

  • game state and phase
  • player order
  • prompts
  • clues
  • votes
  • scores
  • reaction timing
  • round reports
  • winner or result summaries

Some games use private round data, such as a secret word or role. PlayTuck separates certain private round data so each player only receives the information needed for that player during the active round. Final results may reveal some game information to the room, such as the winning player, vote counts, or the secret word.

Feedback, bug reports, and safety reports

If you send feedback, report a bug, or submit a safety report, we may collect:

  • your message
  • category or report reason
  • your Firebase user ID
  • nickname
  • app version
  • time submitted
  • optional diagnostic context if you choose to include it

Diagnostic context may include route, browser user agent, viewport size, online status, language, active room code, selected game, room status, player count, and theme.

Do not include private, sensitive, or unnecessary personal information in feedback messages.

Camera access for QR scanning

PlayTuck may ask for camera access when you choose to scan a lobby QR code. The camera is used on your device to scan the code. The QR scanner does not intentionally upload camera video or images to PlayTuck.

You can choose to enter a room code manually instead of using the camera.

Local device storage

PlayTuck uses local storage on your device for app preferences and convenience features, including:

  • nickname
  • player visual choices
  • analytics preference, if analytics controls are added later
  • recent rooms
  • room recovery state
  • sound, motion, haptics, and theme preferences

Local storage stays on your device unless your browser clears it or you clear it yourself. Some local preferences may also be synced to your PlayTuck profile if you are signed in.

Analytics

PlayTuck does not use product analytics at launch.

If analytics are added later, we will update this Privacy Policy before using them. Future analytics may help us understand usage, improve the app, and fix issues.

If analytics are added later, PlayTuck should not send secret words, clue text, vote targets, passwords, or feedback message contents in analytics events.

Payments and donations

PlayTuck does not have in-app payments, paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases at launch.

The PlayTuck landing page may add an optional donation section later. Before donations go live, this Privacy Policy should be updated to name the payment processor and explain what donation or transaction information is collected, processed, or shared. Do not send payment information through support email.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create and maintain guest and saved accounts
  • run rooms, lobbies, friend features, and games
  • keep players in sync during rounds
  • save profile preferences and progression
  • provide support and respond to feedback
  • detect bugs, abuse, and service issues
  • maintain safety and enforce rules
  • improve product quality

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share or process information with service providers that help operate PlayTuck, including:

  • Firebase Authentication
  • Firebase Realtime Database
  • Cloud Firestore
  • Firebase Hosting
  • Firebase/Google Cloud Functions
  • payment or donation processors, if donations are added later
  • analytics providers, only if analytics are added later and this Privacy Policy is updated

Other players in a room may see your nickname, avatar/visual choices, room presence, game actions, clues, votes/results where the game reveals them, and related gameplay information.

Friends may see friend profile information, friend presence, and lobby invite information when friend features are used.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect PlayTuck, to prevent abuse, or to respond to a valid legal request.

Data Retention

PlayTuck is currently a public-preview product, so data storage may change as the product is tested.

General retention approach:

  • Room data expires or is cleaned up after rooms close, expire, or become inactive.
  • Some room archive summaries may be retained for stats and reliability.
  • Feedback, bug reports, and safety reports may be retained so we can investigate and respond.
  • Account, profile, friend, and progression data may be retained while your account exists.
  • If analytics are added later, analytics retention will be described in an updated version of this Privacy Policy.

During preview, we may reset test data when needed to keep the service stable, fix bugs, or make product changes.

Marketing Emails

PlayTuck does not currently run a marketing email newsletter. If we send marketing emails later, we will include the required sender information and a way to opt out of future marketing emails. Service, safety, account, and transactional emails may still be sent when needed to operate PlayTuck.

Your Choices

You can:

  • use a guest account
  • save your account with email and password
  • change your nickname and profile visual choices
  • change sound, haptics, motion, and theme preferences
  • review analytics controls if analytics are added later
  • use manual room-code entry instead of the QR camera scanner
  • send feedback or privacy requests through Help & Support
  • contact us at support@playtuck.com

Access, Correction, and Deletion

You may request a review, correction, export, or deletion of your PlayTuck account data by contacting support@playtuck.com.

If you have a saved email account, include the email address connected to the account. If you use a guest account, include enough information for us to identify the account, such as your nickname, friend code, approximate use date, or room code, but do not send passwords.

Account deletion may require manual support while PlayTuck is in preview. We may send a verification email with a confirmation link or button before deleting account data. We may retain limited records where needed for security, legal, abuse-prevention, or service-integrity reasons.

Security

PlayTuck uses Firebase services and Firebase security rules to limit access to account, room, friend, and private game data. No system is perfectly secure, and PlayTuck is still in public preview. Use PlayTuck with people you trust and do not share sensitive personal information in nicknames, clues, feedback, or room codes.

International Users

PlayTuck is currently intended for users in the United States. If you use PlayTuck from another region, your information may be processed in the United States or other places where our service providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as PlayTuck changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
